Resetting the lamp hour counter in your beamer projector

Resetting the lamp hour counter on your beamer projector after you install a new replacement lamp is important to make sure that your beamer projector is able to function correctly with the new projector lamp installed. In the section below Projector Lamp Experts Europe has compiled a list of instructions for how to reset the lamp hour for most of the major brands of beamer projector. Full and detailed instructions for installing your replacement beamer projector lamp and resetting the lamp hour counter can be found in your projector's manual. These brief instructions are provided for guideline purposes only.

Reset the lamp hour counter in a 3M projector

  • Start by powering up the 3M beamer projector
  • For three seconds, hold down "reset" on the 3M projector remote control
  • You will see the 3M projector dialog box come up on the screen
  • Select "reset" using the up button on the 3M projector remote control
  • The 3M projector's beamer lamp timer will then be restarted

Reset the lamp hour counter in an ASK projector

ASK beamer projectors may have two ways in which the lamp hour counter can be restarted.

One:

  • Press volume down on the ASK projector's remote control and then volume up within three seconds
  • The LED light on the ASK beamer projector will turn green
  • Power up the ASK beamer projector

Two:

  • Power up the ASK beamer projector
  • Open the ASK beamer projector menu with the ASK projector's remote control
  • Select either "setup" or "service" depending on which option is available
  • Choose the "reset lamp timer" option

Reset the lamp hour counter in a BenQ projector

  • Power up the BenQ beamer projector
  • Press the BenQ beamer projector's "menu" button
  • Select "option" by pressing the 5 or 6 button, then press the "enter" button
  • Choose the "lamp timer" option by pressing the 5 or 6 button, then press  and hold the "reset" button on your BenQ beamer projector for 3 seconds
  • Choose "reset" using the 5 button

Reset the lamp hour counter in a Boxlight projector

  • Power up the Boxlight beamer projector
  • Bring up the Boxlight projector menu by pressing "menu" on the remote
  • Move the red pointer to the "settings" option in the menu
  • Move the red pointer to the "lamp counter reset" option then press the "select" button
  • Move the pointer to the "yes" option and press the "select" button when the "reset lamp counter?" warning is displayed

Reset the lamp hour counter in a Canon projector

  • Power up the Canon beamer projector
  • Press the "menu" button to activate the projector's on screen menu
  • Move the red pointer to the "settings" option in the menu
  • Move the red pointer to the "lamp counter reset" option then press the "select" button
  • Move the pointer to the "yes" option and press the "select" button when the "reset lamp counter?" message appears

Reset the lamp hour counter in a Christie projector

  • Power up the Christie beamer projector
  • Bring up the Christie beamer projector's menu by pressing down on the "menu" button
  • Move the pointer to the "settings" menu option
  • Move the pointer to the "lamp counter reset" menu option then press the "select" button
  • Move the pointer to the "yes" option and press the "select" button when the "reset lamp counter?" dialog is shown

Reset the lamp hour counter in a Dell projector

  • Press "menu" on the remote control the control panel to display the Dell projector menu
  • Select "lamp setting"
  • Select "lamp reset"
  • Choose "yes"

Reset the lamp hour counter in a Dukane projector

  • Power up the Dukane beamer projector
  • Hold the "reset" button on the remote for 3 seconds
  • Choose the "reset" option when the resulting dialog is displayed
  • Your Dukane beamer's lamp timer will be reset

Reset the lamp hour counter in an Eiki projector

  • Power up the Eiki beamer projector
  • Push the "menu" button
  • Choose the "settings" option
  • Select the "Lamp Counter Reset" option
  • The message "Reset Lamp Counter?" will appear. Select "yes"

Reset the lamp hour counter in an Elmo projector

  • Power up the Elmo beamer projector
  • Push down and hold the "reset" button for three seconds
  • Choose the "reset" selection from the resulting dialog box

Reset the lamp hour counter in a Hitachi projector

  • Power up the Hitachi beamer projector
  • Push and hold the "reset" button on the projector's remote control for three seconds
  • Select the "reset" option from the resulting dialog box

Reset the lamp hour counter in an HP projector

  • Press "menu" on the projector control panel or remote control
  • Go to the "lamp setting" section
  • Choose "lamp reset"
  • Select "yes"

Reset the lamp hour counter in an Infocus projector

To reset the lamp hour counter on an Infocus projectors you have two main options:

One:

  • On the Infocus projector remote control push the reduce volume button and within three seconds push the increase volume button
  • The LED on the beamer projector will go green
  • Power up the Infocus beamer projector

Two:

  • Power up the Infocus beamer projector
  • Open the projector menu
  • Select either "service" or "setup" depending on the Infocus beamer projector model
  • Choose "reset lamp timer"

Reset the lamp hour counter in a Liesegang projector

  • Power up the Leisegang beamer projector
  • On your Leisegang beamer projector's remote control, press down on the "rest" button for around 3 seconds. This will bring up a message box
  • Using the up button on the remote control, select "reset"
  • This will reset your Leisegang beamer projector's lamp hour counter

Reset the lamp hour counter in an NEC projector

  • Push the "help" or "off" button on the remote control for at least 10 seconds while the NEC beamer projector is in standby mode
  • The lamp hour counter will be restarted and the status indicator light on the beamer projector will be turned off

Reset the lamp hour counter in a Optoma projector

  • Bring up the on screen display menu by pushing "menu" on the remote control or projector control panel
  • Select the "lamp settings"
  • Then select the "lamp reset" option
  • Pick the "yes" option

Reset the lamp hour counter in a Panasonic projector

  • Turn on the projector
  • Press "menu" and then choose "options"
  • Choose the "lamp run time" option
  • Push and hold "enter" for approximately three seconds
  • The "lamp run time" option will change to "time reset [power off]" and the beamer projector will power down

Reset the lamp hour counter in a Proxima projector

Reset the lamp timer in your Proxima projector by using one of the two following methods:

One

  • Within three seconds, push the volume down button and then the volume up button
  • The LED light on the machine will switch to green
  • Power up your Proxima beamer projector

Two

  • Power up your Proxima beamer projector
  • Using your Proxima projector's remote control, open up the standard projector menu
  • Depending on what model of Proxima projector this is, choose either "setup" or "service"
  • Choose "reset lamp hour timer"

Reset the lamp hour counter in a Toshiba projector

  • Power up the Toshiba beamer projector
  • Push and hold the "on/standby", "input" and "menu" buttons, and connect the projector's power cord to a power outlet
  • Your projector lamp hour counter will be automatically reset

Reset the lamp hour counter in a Viewsonic projector

  • Power up the Viewsonic beamer projector
  • Hold down "reset" on the remote control
  • Select the "reset" option when a dialog box appears
